Playing Around!

I decided to play this morning - of course it took much longer than I expected!  I made this card for my mother-in-law, who really enjoys tea.  I was inspired by the Teabag Envelopes Cut-It set by Lettering Delights.  I used this tutorial for the button closure and love how it turned out!

PTI Make It Monday #106: Two-Toned Stamped Flowers

The perfect recipe for a scrap night:
- Wine
- Husband on a business trip
- Caught up on work and home stuff
- New MIM challenge
- Good music & favorite scented candles (that you can't burn when Hubby is around due to allergies!)

Pretty simple approach this month - I had fun with it :)

PTI Make It Monday #105: Glitter Trim #2

My 5 year old daughter really enjoys crafting with me, and recently she has also wanted to participate in the MIM challenges.  This week, she was more fascinated with the stamp set from PTI "Life is Beautiful" and probably spent 30 minutes die cutting herself, and stamping.  She made a "good pile" and a "bad pile" and these were her 2 favorite flowers.  She made a huge mess with her glitter trip, but got the vacuum and cleaned it all up herself.  A fun crafting partner!!!

Birdie Birthday

My daughter and I are just playing around today - crafting in our jammies all afternoon!  She is hard at work on her own PTI MIM Challenge.  Meanwhile, I combined some of my favorite birdie sets from my 2 favorite stamping companies - Stampin' Up! and Papertrey Ink.

PTI Make It Monday #105: Glitter Trim

I had to get a bit creative with this PTI Make-it-Monday challenge.  Living in Mexico, there is limited supply of scrapbooking materials, and what is available is crazy expensive.  While I like bling, I have never gotten into glitter, and actually only had a clear glitter color on hand.  So, I cut some of my border shapes with glitter tape I picked up in the US over the holidays and loved the effect so much, that I went online and ordered 25 more colors of glitter for my parents to bring when they visit next month :)  This masculine birthday card is for my hubby, who turns 34 later this month.  We will be celebrating in Cancun, so I went with an oceanic color palette.

My 5 year old also had fun with the MIM challenge, and especially liked the idea of jewels in the middle!

PTI Make It Monday #104: Handmade Pinwheels

It's been a few weeks since I've done the PTI Make-it-Monday challenge, so I was excited to jump in this week!  I have never played with Pinwheels and found it fun - and easy enough that my 5 year old daughter could do a project with me.

I liked the idea of putting patterned paper back-to-back.  Do did my daughter, here is her project!

After the MIM challenge, I played around with a butterfly technique I used on a layout this weekend.  These Stamps are from Stampin' Up.  As you can see, I'm also playing around with techniques on how to best take pictures of my finished products - the lighting in my house leaves something to be desired, and it doesn't help that I usually scrapbook at night!
