PTI MAKE IT MONDAY #211: USING GELATOS WITH STAMPS

Emily and I happened to pick up a 4 pack of Gelato's when we were in the US over the holidays.....we haven't even opened or tried them.  This week's Papertrey MIM gave us a chance finally!!!

Now, the BAD news is, we totally want the Anniversary set shown in the example!!!  And I recently used up all my award points :(  Looks like I need to do some major shopping to replenish and get the kit!!

PTI Challenge: handmade tag with a matching gift bag

I am super excited about how this PTI Challenge to make a Tag and Gift Bag turned out!  One of my best friends from College is getting married in 2 weeks, and we are giving them a subscription for a wine club membership.  I think these accessories and bag will be the perfect way to present the gift!!

PTI Make It Monday #197: Homemade Foam Stickers

I love how this card for PTI Make it Monday turned out.  First time I was able to play around with the "Fancy That" stamp set.  I will definitely use this technique again...great way to use up the scrap foam from the "Sprinkles and Shakers" Make it Market kit...but maybe not with glitter :)

Make It Monday #189: Impression Line Water Coloring

We are squeezing in this week's Make it Monday challenge, just before heading out on vacation!! :)   I thought this would be a great fit with Thanksgiving right around the corner.

SAF 2014: Explore the 1920's with Heather Nichols

Okay, I figure they have winter in the 1920s......  And the glitter just inspired me to do something winter like :)  Must be the constant influence of Frozen in my house!!!  Also, to fully appreciate the 1920s, we have to remember prohibition...so I am scrapping now with a nice glass of wine!

SAF 2014: Explore the 1920's with Heather Nichols

I'm up to 1920!!! This is the first Era where I have continued to listen to the corresponding playlist as I worked on my projects (nothing against the designers that put the prior playlists together...just not my kind of music!!....though I might go back and listen to see what Lizzie's surprise was...).  Well, I just just cracking up, because growing up as a Girl Scout, I always sang "Tip Toe to the Tippee (outhouse), in the moonlight, in your underwear..." And I had no idea there was an actual song with the same tune called "Tiptoe to the Tulips" from the 20s!!

Anyway, here is my card.  I decided to mix some gold rhinestones in and leave some areas blank.  Some of my rhinestones are from Stampin' Up!, and while you can't tell in th picture, they are WAY more sparkly!

And I just figured out how to make my pictures post bigger...fancy that!

SAF 2014: Explore the Regency Era with Melissa Phillips

Wow...onto the Regency Era with PTI's Stamp-a-Faire!

I started this challenge with the same die and set the Melissa used in her example.  But it just wasn't working for me.  So as I started going through my supplies, the gold flecks in the Make-it-Market Shakers & Sprinkles kit caught my eye, and I knew just what I wanted to do!  Then, I was KICKING myself, because I also realized I DID have gigantic foam for the first mosaic challenge this morning!  Oh well!  I really like how this card turned out :)  I stamped the script image from the Regency stamp set around the border and scallop for the heart.

SAF 2014: Explore the Renaissance with Nichole Heady

Here we go!  SAF Renaissance Challenge.  My daughter is back in the game and was LOVING the velvet :)  This was a fun and relatively quick card...especially when working together with Emily!  You can't tell from the picture, but the die and card base are the sparkly PTI paper...divine!!  I also included a picture of Emily in action...yep, we are still scrapping in our jammies.  We'll probably take showers before starting the wax project.  We were just so excited to get going this morning!

PTI Make It Monday #176: Backgrounds with Embossing Paste and Shakers & Sprinkles set!!!

Time for some Make it Monday!!!  This was kind of a failure...we did not have white embossing paste on hand, so we substituted with Multi-Medium Matte.  That was more like a glue, so our stencil's didn't work very well.  Plus on my first try, I forgot to scrape off the excess.  What a mess!  I think Emily and I used about half a roll of paper towel :)  In any case, we have no ordered white embossing paste, and we'll give this challenge a try again when we have the right supplies on hand!

We also played around with the Shakers and Sprinkles set for the first time.  We were SO EXCITED to finally get this set!  We had tons of fun and took lots of notes, so that next time we can assemble our projects faster.  Emily tried hers with glitter instead of sprinkles, and got a pretty cool effect.

PTI Make It Monday #174: Diamond Wallpaper Stamping

Wow, I have to give Ashley credit...she made her technique look so easy, but it was pretty tough!  Glad I did this week's challenge with my mom instead of my 7 year old daughter!!  Here are my 2 cards!  My mom's is posted next :) Okay, I didn't have the right materials to go for a diamond look, so I went with circles :)  All PTI stamps though!!!  Didn't like the 2nd card at first, but it ended up being my favorite of the 2 :)

Bling Card

Believe it or not, I actually do more than just Make in Monday's....I just never have time to post to the blog!! :)  I really liked this card I made for a Card Club though - the theme was bling.  I couldn't wait to play with this set from WPlus9.  I had never heard of this company before and stumbled on their website thanks to Pinterest.

PTI Make It Monday #133: Creating a Flocked Look with Dimensional Paste

We've been really busy, so I haven't done the MIM in awhile.  I didn't think I'd be able to do this week's challenge, given I don't have the right materials (but I ordered them already from Amazon for my next trip to the US!).  Shout out to my friend Cyndi who had some Gesso (which I NEVER heard of until this MIM) that I could borrow.  I was also really excited to play with the new Apple Stamp Set, which my husband just brought back from the US along with many other PTI goodies :)

I got an idea from another MIM entry (Jacquie used gold mist) and applied Primsa Glitter to my card before the gesso was dry.  Clearly this would have been a perfect snowflake card, but I was already set on the apple idea.  I used a piece of green scrap for my stencil, which I wasn't happy with given it left some green residue.  Next time I will definitely use the same color as the card.  Can't wait to try this again sometime!

PTI Make It Monday #117: Paper Piecing

Been a really busy week, but I managed to squeeze in a MIM!!  I find myself going to this jar set over and over!!  It was the only Papertrey Set I thought would work well with this week's challenge; though I considered a few other sets.  This card took MUCH longer than what I normally spend on cards though, so though it was fun, I will probably skip this technique in the future, unless it's for a scrapbooking page!

PTI Make It Monday #105: Glitter Trim

I had to get a bit creative with this PTI Make-it-Monday challenge.  Living in Mexico, there is limited supply of scrapbooking materials, and what is available is crazy expensive.  While I like bling, I have never gotten into glitter, and actually only had a clear glitter color on hand.  So, I cut some of my border shapes with glitter tape I picked up in the US over the holidays and loved the effect so much, that I went online and ordered 25 more colors of glitter for my parents to bring when they visit next month :)  This masculine birthday card is for my hubby, who turns 34 later this month.  We will be celebrating in Cancun, so I went with an oceanic color palette.
